Borrower Services FAQs
Why do I need my Bryant ID to use the library? Your Bryant ID serves as your library card and is needed for a variety of library services including: check out of circulating materials; access to electronic reserves; borrowing of reserves and equipment; request materials online and off-site database access.
Does the library charge fines for overdue material? Bryant does not currently assess fines for overdue material, but we will charge a replacement fee for items more than 28 days overdue, and will place a block on students' Banner accounts until the matter is resolved by returning, replacing, or paying for the book.
What if I lose or damage a book? The library charges a fee equivalent to an item's replacement cost (or $50 per item if that cost information is not known) for lost Bryant materials. Lost Interlibrary Loan items will incur a replacement fee of $100 per item. Replacement copies for Bryant owned items are encouraged when possible; please speak to the Borrower Services librarian to see if arrangements can be made in these situations.
Can I check out material from Reference and/or Periodicals? All reference material, journals and newspapers are for on-site use only.
Can reserve items leave the library? Unless specifically indicated by the faculty member, reserve material cannot leave the premises. The general time for on-site use is two hours.
Where can I return library books? All library materials can be returned at Borrower Services.
