American Taxation Association
Part of the American Accounting Association, this organization offers research, teaching, and service resources related to taxation, as well as public interest announcements and reports.

Federation of Tax Administrators.  Links to State Tax Administrators.
The FTA provides services to state tax authorities and administrators.  
Their site contains links to state comparisons of tax rates and burdens, state electronic filing and EFT sites, motor fuel tax rates by state and more.

National Association of Tax Professionals
Website of a nonprofit organization "dedicated to excellence in taxation." The Federal Tax Information section includes news, links, procedures, rulings, IRS notices, and more.

National Tax Association
Resources include information on federal, state, and local governments; a listing of US databases and internet sites covering taxation; and full-text articles from their publication, The National Tax Journal.

The Tax Foundation
,,,the mission of the Tax Foundation is to "educate taxpayers about sound tax policy and the size of the tax burden borne by Americans at all levels of government."  They publish the annual State Business Tax Climate .


Internal Revenue Service (IRS)
Contains sections for individuals, businesses, and tax professionals. Resources include tax publications and forms, news releases, and statistics.

Tax Statistics from the IRS
The Tax Statistics site from the IRS contains tables, articles and data on different tax topics.  The Business Tax Statistics section reports on corporations, international taxes, partnerships, S corporations and more.

Bankrate provides links to tax calculators and current news about state, federal, income and property taxes.

Paying Taxes Annual

Compiled by the World Bank-IFC Doing Business site, this publication provides a global comparison of corporate tax rates and the difficulty of paying taxes in various countries.

Tax History Project
A public service initiative from Tax Analysts started in 1995, which "provides scholars, policymakers, journalists, and the general public with information on the history of U.S. public finance." Features include a virtual museum of U.S. tax history, an image collection, and readings in tax history.

TurboTax Free Tax Calculators and Tax Tips  
Provides explanations, free calculators, and tips covering personal and business tax payments, exemptions, and deductions.  Covers all areas of life.
