Sarkisian Chair

The Sarkisian Chair, officially called the Norman Sarkisian Chair in Business Economics, was Bryant's first endowed chair. Established in 1984 with a generous gift from Norman Sarkisian, this chair provides Bryant with the opportunity to attract prominent scholars in the field of national or regional economics and business studies. The first person to hold this chair was Dr. R.D. "Pat" Norton. Dr. Peter Nigro is the current and 2nd Sarkisian Chair, the title being changed slightly to Sarkisian Chair in Financial Services.

Norman Sarkisian was a former Bryant Trustee and former president of Beacon Industries which he owned for 35 years. Sarkisian received an Honorary degree from Bryant in 1988 and was a member of the class of 1953. Sarkisian's donation to Bryant was the largest by a living donor up until this time.
